Choose the Right Rigid Box Structure
Not sure which structure suits your product, budget or shipping plan? Select "Not Sure -- Recommend a Style" and our engineers will advise.
| Box Style | Best For | Opening Style | Ships Flat | Relative Complexity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Magnetic Closure Box | Cosmetics, electronics, gifts and presentation kits | Hinged magnetic reveal | No, unless designed as a collapsible structure | Medium-High |
| Two-Piece Box | Jewelry, cosmetics, candles and general luxury products | Lift-off lid | No | Medium |
| Drawer Box | Jewelry, accessories, cosmetics and premium product sets | Slide-out reveal | No | Medium-High |
| Shoulder-Neck Box | Perfume, spirits, jewelry and luxury gifts | Layered lift-off reveal | No | High |
| Collapsible Rigid Box | E-commerce, retail kits and products with high freight-volume sensitivity | Hinged magnetic reveal | Yes | High |
| Book-Style Box | Presentation kits, documents, samples and premium collections | Side-hinged reveal | No | Medium-High |
The comparison is indicative only. Final production complexity depends on box dimensions, insert construction, materials and finishing requirements.
For dark-colored wraps, we normally recommend anti-scratch lamination because fingerprints and surface marks are more visible.
For heavier glass bottles, molded pulp or reinforced paperboard inserts may provide better structural support than lightweight folded dividers.
Collapsible rigid boxes can reduce freight and storage volume, but they require additional assembly time during product pack-out.

CMYK Process Color or Pantone Spot Color?
Select the color system according to your artwork, brand-color requirements and production budget. CMYK is generally suitable for photographs and multi-color graphics, while Pantone spot colors provide more controlled reproduction for selected brand colors and solid areas.
CMYK Process Printing
CMYK combines cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks through separate printing plates. Small overlapping dots build photographs, illustrations, gradients and other multi-color artwork.
- Best for
- Photographs, gradients, illustrations and artwork containing many colors.
- Key advantage
- Reproduces a broad range of colors within one four-color printing process.
- Production note
- Final appearance can change with paper color, surface texture, ink density and lamination. Approve color on the selected production material whenever color accuracy is important.
Pantone Spot Color Printing
Pantone colors use pre-mixed ink formulas printed as individual spot colors. They are commonly specified when a logo or key brand color requires more controlled reproduction than a standard CMYK build.
- Best for
- Brand colors, logos, solid backgrounds and designs using a limited color palette.
- Key advantage
- Provides cleaner solid coverage and a defined formula for communicating color requirements.
- Production note
- Paper color, surface texture and finishing can still affect the visible result. Confirm the Pantone reference and approve a physical sample before mass production.
Hot Foil Stamping
Transfers metallic or pigment foil with controlled heat and pressure, adding reflective detail to logos, borders and selected graphics.
Cold Foil Stamping
Creates smooth metallic effects with fine detail and consistent coverage, making it suitable for complex graphics and larger foil areas.
Embossing
Raises selected artwork above the surface to add tactile depth and stronger visual emphasis to logos and design details.
Debossing
Presses selected artwork below the surface to create a refined recessed effect with subtle tactile depth.
Spot UV
Applies a glossy coating to selected areas, creating contrast against matte surfaces and directing attention to key design elements.
Reverse UV
Combines matte and glossy effects to produce controlled surface contrast and additional visual depth.
Die Cutting
Creates accurately cut shapes, windows and edges to support custom structures and distinctive presentation features.
Fresnel Lens
Uses precision micro-structured effects to create dynamic light refraction, movement and dimensional visual impact.
Matte Lamination
Creates a smooth, low-reflection surface that reduces glare and gives printed colors a refined appearance.
Gloss Lamination
Adds a high-shine protective surface that increases color vibrancy and visual contrast.
Anti-Scratch Lamination
Provides a durable matte finish with improved resistance to visible scuffs and handling marks.
Soft-Touch Lamination
Creates a smooth, velvety tactile finish with a premium matte appearance.
Holographic Lamination
Adds light-reactive color shifts and visual movement to create a distinctive, high-impact surface.
Varnishing
Applies a transparent protective coating that can adjust gloss, improve surface feel and provide additional handling resistance.
Plastic-Replacement Coating
