In brief

What This Eyeglasses Case Box Is Designed to Do

This product is a custom rigid secondary presentation box, not a molded daily-carry eyeglass case. Its job is to hold one folded eyewear frame in a controlled position, protect the retail presentation, carry the brand story and support a consistent unboxing experience. Final dimensions and the insert cavity are developed from a physical frame, approved drawing or verified maximum product envelope.

Important distinction: the rigid gift box can be engineered as part of an eyewear retail pack, but it should not be described as impact-rated, crush-proof or suitable for daily transport unless the completed pack has been designed and tested against written acceptance criteria.
Structure and brand experience

A Book-Style Rigid Box Creates a Controlled Reveal

The shown format combines a wrapped rigid-board base with a hinged lid. It presents the eyewear horizontally, keeps a large interior-lid area available for decoration and gives the buyer immediate access to the frame.

ComponentFunctionWhat should be approved
Wrapped rigid-board shellProvides shape, panel flatness and premium hand feelBoard thickness, corner build, wrap alignment and surface marking
Hinged book-style lidControls the opening path and displays interior artworkOpening angle, hinge crease, panel alignment and repeated operation
Fitted single-pair insertPositions the folded frame and controls contact pointsCavity geometry, surface contact, removal access and lid clearance
Optional closure or sleeveKeeps the presentation closed during retail handlingOpening force, component placement and packing efficiency

Closures are specified only when required. A magnet, ribbon, paper belly band or slip sleeve should be treated as a deliberate configuration choice rather than assumed from the box style.

Fit engineering

Engineer the Insert Around the Folded Frame

“Eyeglasses” is not a usable cavity size. Lens width, bridge form, frame curvature, temple stack and nose-pad projection vary significantly. The insert should therefore be based on the maximum packed envelope of the approved frame.

  • Overall folded length, width and maximum height

  • Frame-front curvature and lens-edge contact risk

  • Folded temple position, stack thickness and hinge projection

  • Bridge and adjustable nose-pad projection

  • Finger-access point and acceptable removal force

Insert decision matrix

Select the Insert by Frame Sensitivity and Brand Position

The reference design uses a black foam-like insert. Other systems can be evaluated where appearance, material separation or product contact requires a different solution.

Insert optionBest useMain approval points
Precision-cut EVA or foamDefined frame geometry and controlled presentationDensity, odor, compression, edge finish, contact area and removal force
Flocked or fabric-covered foamSofter visual finish for premium retail and giftingLint, color transfer, adhesive marks, fabric tension and abrasion
Wrapped paperboard platformPaper-forward systems and lighter framesLocking geometry, folded edges, frame restraint and surface contact
Molded pulp, where geometry permitsProjects accepting visible fiber texture and formed tolerancesFit variation, draft angles, edge texture and contact with lenses or coating
Fit-sample rule: the frame should remain visually centered after normal handling, lift out without forcing the hinges or lenses, and close without contact between the eyewear and the inside lid. For multi-SKU programs, test the largest verified frame envelope or create SKU-specific inserts.
Paper, print and finishing

Build Luxury with Controlled Contrast

The reference direction uses burgundy specialty paper, gold hot foil and a black insert. The effect comes from contrast between the tactile paper, crisp metallic detail and dark product well—not from filling every panel with decoration.

Specialty paper: approve color, grain direction, rub behavior and wrapping performance on the selected board.

Hot foil: check foil shade, edge definition, coverage, pinholes and registration to folds or panel edges.

Embossing or debossing: confirm relief depth, reverse-side effect and compatibility with the artwork size and paper.

Specification control

Translate the Visual Concept into Measurable Requirements

A useful RFQ separates mandatory construction requirements from optional decoration. This allows suppliers to quote the same pack rather than visually similar boxes with different materials or assembly.

Development workflow

Approve Function Before Mass-Production Appearance

  1. Define the brief: frame sample, quantity, artwork, sales channel, pack-out and acceptance criteria.

  2. Confirm structure: blank prototype for box proportions, opening and insert access.

  3. Run the fit sample: load the actual folded frame and check contact, retention, removal and lid clearance.

  4. Approve decoration: paper, printed color, foil shade, registration and relief details.

  5. Lock the production standard: signed sample, drawings, artwork revision and agreed inspection points.

Commercial planning

What Drives Wholesale Cost, MOQ and Lead Time?

A responsible quotation is based on the complete approved specification. Fixed pricing or timing cannot be inferred from the title alone.

Structure and size

Board usage, box depth, hinge construction, optional closure and shipping cube affect the material and assembly model.

Insert conversion

Material, thickness, layered construction, cutting method, covering and manual fitting influence tooling and labor.

Print and decoration

Color count, specialty paper, foil coverage, emboss tooling and tight registration add process steps and setup.

Order program

Total quantity, SKU split, artwork versions, packing method, approval speed and delivery plan determine the workable production schedule.

For an actionable quote, send: one physical eyewear sample or controlled drawing, target quantity by SKU, artwork, preferred box direction, insert preference, destination market, required packing configuration and your written acceptance criteria. Material declarations or testing should be requested according to the destination and project—not assumed from a generic box description.

Frequently asked questions

Custom Rigid Eyeglasses Box FAQ

1. Is this box a protective daily-carry eyeglass case?

No. It is primarily a rigid paperboard presentation and retail box. It can protect the packed product during intended handling when correctly engineered, but daily-carry or impact-resistance claims require a different specification and relevant validation.

2. What do you need to design the fitted insert?

A physical production-intent frame is preferred. A controlled drawing can also be used if it includes the complete folded envelope, curvature, temple stack, nose-pad projection, weight and sensitive contact areas.

3. Can one insert fit several eyewear styles?

Possibly, if all approved frames remain within a verified design envelope and pass the same fit checks. If shapes or folded heights differ substantially, SKU-specific cavities usually provide better retention and presentation.

4. Can the burgundy paper and gold foil be changed?

Yes. Wrap paper, printed color, foil shade, artwork, embossing and interior color can be developed to the brand brief. Final appearance should be approved on the selected production materials.

5. What determines MOQ and production lead time?

Box dimensions, insert construction, material availability, decoration, tooling, total quantity, SKU split, sampling rounds and packing requirements all matter. GPLPAK confirms workable terms after reviewing the complete RFQ.

6. How should we approve the box before mass production?

Approve the structure and insert fit with the intended frame, then approve materials, color and decoration. The final signed sample, drawings, artwork revision and inspection criteria should form the production reference.

Was sind Prozessfarben?

Was sind Spot Colors?
